Ocean Energy

Ocean energy refers to the energy that can be harnessed from the ocean’s tides, waves, currents, and temperature differences. It is a form of renewable energy that has the potential to provide a significant source of electricity for coastal communities around the world.

Tidal energy is generated by harnessing the energy of the tides, which are caused by the gravitational pull of the moon and the sun on the Earth’s oceans. This energy can be captured by building tidal barrages, which are similar to dams, but are built across estuaries or bays. When the tide comes in, it raises the water level behind the barrage, which can then be released through turbines to generate electricity.
